07.04c: Meetings and Reflections

Ossian will ask, "What would it take to make a floating city? around the castle and over the bay?"

[Rasanam]

Rasanam hms, and starts sketching. "Actually, I'd head that out over the forest, connect it to some tall trees; get a bit more nature in, as Harrune suggested. As for what it would take... a lot of work, over years or decades, if we're using magic to set it up. But..." Rasanam looks over at Harrune, "I'd rather use Pattern if we can find a way to do that. Magic can be dispelled."

[misfit]

"Well that's certainly beyond my abilities with Pattern, but Dworkin has also challenged me to learn more about that as well. I do agree that Pattern would be harder to undo than Sorcery, so that would seem to be the wiser course...if it can be done. ...although we might want to consider doing both. We could use one as a 'back-up' for the other."

[Rasanam]

Rasanam nods. "Alys seems to think it 'should' be able to have rather more direct effects than walking through shadow to things. And, assuming it's what Dworkin used to create this place, I suspect she may be right - though it might also be Pattern in combination with sorcery, or Trump, or..." He shrugs.

"Speaking of whom, I believe she had some news she wanted shared? Would it be appropriate to call her in now?"

[misfit]

"I have brought up the subjects I wished people to consider, so I have no objections. Does anyone else?"

[Joshua]

Ossian will nod. "Maybe she has new of the black knight."

Cassandra will ask, "Should we keep the riddle secret?"

Ossian will blink and ask. "What riddle?"

[Rasanam]

Rasanam will relate the riddle to Ossian (along with relevant context.) He also takes out his trump deck, and shuffles Alys' card to the top. ((Not actually pulling her into the scene yet - giving Ossian a chance to respond to the riddle, and others a chance to respond to Cassandra's question.))

[Joshua]

"I guess we should keep that secret. It seems to be about the castle." Ossian will say. "But, it's not really my place to decide that is it?"

[Veyska]

"I didn't recognize anybody's hand in that manifestation, I'm inclined to the opinion that if the 'castle' or whatever that was wants others to know it will let them know. That being said, I doubt it would be any particular crisis if word got out." She wiggles her whiskers and smiles wryly, saying, "Though if someone does say something and promptly gets beaned by a falling crenelation or gets eaten by a hidden trapdoor, I'd appreciate them telling me so I know to keep mum for certain."

"Ossian, it is up to all of us to decide. If it is to be kept secret then we all need to agree. Any one of us can veto that."

"As for myself, I am inclined to think that we should keep this close, at least for now. As Asai says, if the force is behind this wanted others to know they will make that happen. It seems like that message was sent to a specific person or small group of us. I see nothing to be gained by sharing it around and nothing to be lost by keeping it to ourselves. Once this goes public there is no way to make it private again. I prefer to keep our options open."
