07.01: The Seventh Winter

Just before the fruit course, a loud thump and a big puff of smoke bellows from the middle of the 5 fireplace. Dworkin, or at least some sort of old and crazy dwarf, comes rolling out of the fire in a red suit, carrying a dark sack. There’s a shocked hush (and at least one swear word) and some hushed disbelieving stares.

Dworkin coughs and chokes as a nearby aide tries to extinguish his hat. Dworkin chokes out, “Whose silly idea was that?”

The whole room goes quiet as no one is willing to state it was his idea. Regardless he doesn’t let anyone interrupt before looking out the doors to the balcony. “Krampus, let’s not do that either.”

A dark shape with tendrils makes a small nod and vanishes into the starry night. (OOC: I would strongly advise against following the insane demon-monster.)

“Now… who wants some gifts?” Dworkin will ask.

(OOC: There is a wrapped bag for every Amberite. Each bag is deep black spider-silk and contains a Dworkin’s Trump Deck. Feel free to work that in when you’re ready. Dworkin will take a bit of time to make the rounds.)

Looks like the Table in the Corner gets theirs first.
Then Harrune at the Orr table.
After Lyra stops by the merc table, Dworkin will swing by.
Then upset an elf, and finally stop by Oberon and any other amberites there.

[Rasanam]

Fjolnir, Rasanam's raven familiar (or former familiar, depending on who you ask), has been flitting from one table to another, changing places between each course, if not more often. Mostly he's been talking to minor merchants and the like; by the time the salad comes out, however, he's settled down to a long discussion on magical theory with a couple of local mages-in-training that aren't quite sure why they were invited to the feast in the first place...

Ossian will storm out around this time.

Dessert is: Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies*. And is served about now. Milk (plain and chocolate) or vanilla Ice cream is available with it.
Ossian still has not returned.

While it would be amusing to have Ossian walk through and threaten people with a spear... that's totally not needed and this scene seems to be winding down. So, yeah, he goes through using his spear as kind of a scanner, but that's it.... He does pick up and use Asai's tracking fork when he returns.

Follow up scenes will be: (And I can get started on threads for them...)

• Tea with Dworkin
• the meeting at Ht'Gon with Morgana and some combination of: Aibne, Lyra, Cameron, and Alys.
• Anything else people are doing that night
• The start of the next day's morning explorations

Harrune will stop to talk for a moment with Oberon, then gather up a couple of the members of his entourage and quite leave the celebration.
