07.01l The Seventh Winter (Mercenary Matters)

[Joshua]

Rogbar puts a hand reassuringly on Aibne's shoulder. "It is okay. I let myself get distracted before, it will not happen again." Slowly, he will try to get Aibne to open his hand to reveal the trump card. He will examine the card. "What is that thing you're doing in the picture? I don't think I've ever seen you do that before."

He will smile. "And Morgana will be there for you, right? As will the other members of Ht'Gon, and the Striders."

[Draylen]

"That's because it's a dream I had once, Master... a very long time ago," he says, grumbling a little and sighing. "I... don't want to talk about it. Okay?" he asks, visibly distressed, eating the next course.

[Joshua]

"I meant smiling..." Rogbar will say and settle into his grilled fruit. HE will instead turn to Cameron, "So, that allows people to find you easily?"

[khadjair]

Cameron sighs and nods.

"I'm not sure if you're familiar with telephony, but it's somewhat like that. Or like a window to the person who's depicted. I can't say I'm pleased to see myself depicted such, but.. it might be convenient to come this way, too. It's a mixed blesing, but definitely a mark of importance."

He leans back in his chair and shakes his head "Wandering just got a lot more difficult. Not impossible, but difficult."

[Joshua]

Rogbar will observe Asai leaving and returning. "Perhaps it is more than that. Those look like what Darnell used to teleport to his home, and back here so fast."

He will purr a little. "Those could cut our travel time from weeks to a matter of moments."

[Draylen]

aibne looks at the card in his hand and puts it back into the deck, frowning a little. "But, Master, we charge by the week," he points out, frowning a little. "If we made travel times negligible, we wouldn't make any money."

[The Raven]

"Aibne, I doubt just anyone could use these, let alone create them, so I doubt the Shadow Striders will be going out of business any time soon."

[Joshua]

"Perhaps we could use it to call reenforcements?" Rogbar offers. "Although, I guess we'd all need those." He flicks an ear. "Still, Aibne, you have walked the pattern, you could... do much more for us, if you chose."

[The Raven]

"You could, at very least, use it to call Aibne to your location. I suppose that would be sufficient reinforcements for most situations." Raven ponders a second, "I suspect I could come up with far more clever uses for them if I knew more about how exactly how these things functioned..." Raven frowns at the card for a second, then adds "But I'm no scholar."

[Joshua]

"So, Mr. Raven..." Rogbar asks, "What is your story? Why are you here?"
