07.13e: Just a Moment

As mentioned before, in order to get to Tir'Na Nog'th, one walks into the main doors of Castle Amber, through teh main hallway, up the main staircase (3 floors), then out onto a balcony, where you walk up the steps (easily another 20-40 feet up) into Tir'Na. From there, one has a sort stroll into the courtyard.

Rogbar was invited (I am fairly certain) to attend. He's still heavily bandaged and injured, but is making a brave front to get up the stairs. He's currently in the second flood of Castle Amber. In full regal outfit, despite his bandages*.

*: He has to attend a lot of formal functions while injured. This probably isn't the worst he's looked. Although that was likely 2 or 3 years ago.

"I certainly hope that ordeal in the swamp didn't use up one of your 9 lives" Jiga will appear from the stairwell of the floor below, easily catching up to the feline. She is dressed to the 9's in a dress of jet black silk that lightens to a deep blue at the bottom. She wears a few plain but elegantly designed silver jewelry pieces that glitter in the moonlight filtering in through a window as she makes her way over to Rogbar. "I hope your invitation has room for a plus one." Her expression and tone of voice are carefully neutral as her trained gaze watches the cat for subtle information his words and actions may try to mask.

"Quite an impressive show mi'lady. I do hope you are willing to join my group soon. Regardless, I have more than nine lives. Nine is a useful number, not not the one where I am from. I... try not to count though. It can get depressing." Rogbar will offer. He's actively not trying to be interested, although at this point, not even he can be that dense as to not understand a little of what's going on.

"Well, don't push yourself too hard. I'm glad you're alright." Jiga moves over to Rogbar and offers to take his arm (with the intent to subtly provide support in the guise of walking arm in arm). "I've thought a bit about your Shadow Striders. They certainly seem like a real good group and people I wouldn't mind being associated with. Hopefully I can be your company for the evening and that will give us plenty of time to discuss such matters further."

"Are you trying to ..." he will pause, "Where is Lyra? Surely, if you were to join, you would need her permission. Or, at least, make sure she is okay with it."

He won't lean too heavy on you as he continues. "And don't worry about the plus one, I find that after a certain number of visits, they stop trying to throw you out."

"I'm sure Lyra's already at the party. I can speak to her about it tonight." Jiga keeps walking, though slightly distracted, picking her words. "But I don't need her permission, I just want her blessing. I still owe her a lot; for giving me a chance. If I do join the Striders it won't change that. They...you...are all good people and we're working towards the same goal. I just think maybe through working with you, training with you, I can do more here. I tried to help them rescue you but all I could do was tend to the wounded. I'm a good thief, but I'm not good enough to be of much help in this place."

It's clear she has more to say but leaves off.

"Oh? Well, yeah, we can work with strength and other skills. This place does help one learn." He smiles. "Well, uh... Why not join us tomorrow then? We can set you up as an auxiliary member without much trouble. That would allow you to train with us."

He stops after another flight of stairs. "Sorry, I'm okay. Just a little blood-loss. Healing here doesn't quite take as much as it does elsewhere."

"Really? With how magical this place is...though I suppose it's not magic in the same way I'm used to. Still, I'd think someone would have been able to easily heal you up good as new. As for training, that'd be great. I won't be satisfied until I can manage that obstacle course as well as you can. And even then..." She trails off with a determined look. "If you're not feeling up to this evening at any point, we can just leave. You don't have to prove anything to them."

"It is a matter of inertia. The more time you spend here, the more... uh... they call it real, one is. You breathe real air, eat real food, become more solid to shadow and other magics. Healing a shadow-being, like in your home, allows an easy replacement of shadow material. Here, it takes a bit longer to solve things." He smiles. "Still, for most people, it strengthens us as well*. You might find you're stronger then you used to be."

"Well I'm not going to place my hopes on my just being here making me stronger." Jiga pauses a moment, assessing the cat's condition as best as she can with her limited first aid knowledge. "Even if magic doesn't work well, I'm sure someone here could help you with some sort of power. Still, in your condition it's a good thing you have someone that knows a little first aid by your side. Just don't do anything too crazy tonight that might require me to make use of that skill, ok?"
