07.11e: A Marriage of Inconvenience

[Joshua]

Lieutenant Rogers (the goblin in a knight helmet, he's been around a lot) will locate Aibne, wherever the bear is, at about a quarter past eleven in the morning. "Aibne, big issue. Rogbar didn't come home last night, which is normal, but he hasn't shown up for the practice drills... which is marriage*!"

The big bear blinks, and then his eyes go wide. He makes his apologies to the people he's talking to, and shakes his head, frowning. "Who was he with last night? Is anyone on the trail yet?" he says, exploding into a flurry of movement, stalking quickly away. "Assemble everyone else who's off, we need to track him down. Get everyone to the usual meeting place, if he's not there..." he grins a little, his eyes lighting up. "We've got a Code M in progress, and I just might authorize nonlethal force.'

"I'll get them. I'll see you there." Rogers will pause, "You mean the practice field, right?" He will confirm before running off.

Jiga, having been up and about for some time, overhears Rogers gathering the troops and intercepts him as he darts about. "What's this about marriage?"

[Draylen]

"Ah, Jiga!" Aibne says, walking up. "Hey. It's good to see you. We have a bit of a situation, Rogbar's getting married. We're going to get him back." He pauses a little, blinking. "Er, sorry. He's either been kidnapped or being kidnapped. We last saw him with a very pale woman with long black hair, so we're going to find her." He scratches at his chin a little, frowning slightly. "I... would appreciate the help. The only two people I could think to contact, one's busy ruling the city, and the other told me she doesn't want to be trumped."

Jiga looks surprised, muttering a questioning "marriage?" under her breath before replying. "I saw the woman you're talking about." A bit of distaste tinges her overall look of concern. "Very pale, dark hair. I saw the direction they left the part in but that's the last I saw him as well. I'll help though I'm not sure that will amount to much compared to anyone you could summon with those cards of yours. How many of the Shadow Striders are available to assist?"

[Draylen]

"We have a Code M. If the answer isn't all of them, I will be most annoyed," the bear says, his eyes lighting up. "Rogers, send for a runner, maybe we can see if Alys isn't busy," he orders, before starting to march through the field, helping the gathering masses get ready.

[Wyvern]

After some minutes, Alys turns up, Tinder at her heels. She's acquired a rather ordinary-looking mottled grey cloak, a broadsword, and (presumably) a reasonable supply of concealed throwing blades of one sort or another. Aside from that, though, she's still in the same outfit as when she was talking to Cameron and Osmund: a set of red sashes anchored by gold (in color if not material) jewelry; apparently the situation did not merit taking time to, say, find shoes, or put on armor, or the like.

She nods to Aibne, but does not move to disrupt his march through the field.

After some time to allow for the Striders to gather, Jiga inquires to no one in particular, "so does anyone know who that woman was or where we should start looking?"

Rogers (the goblin-knight) will come up... and explain to Jiga and likely Aibne. "We've tracked around Amber, manually checked most places that our tracking spells can't go. He's not in shadow. We've expanded our search to the immediate shadows nearby, but we have to go one at a time until our shadow-trackers get here. Hopefully Rogbar has his dimensional beacon still on him. If not, he'll be harder to find."
