Sadie then turns, with a sad look to Solten, “Can I borrow your voice for a bit?” To which Solten agrees. Sadie then asks him to tell Murphy that, “I will miss him dearly, that we had a wonderful partnership, and that with his leave I would like to keep the collar he gave me to remind me of my home, him, and the lessons I learned here as I move on into my new life. So that I never forget who I am, the oaths I swore, and what I represent. Tell him I gave him the treasure because I know he is one of great moral character and will do with it great things to help the community and make what he can of the world a better place. Tell him I love him and will keep him with me always. He will forever inspire me to be a better dog." To which Solten solemnly turns to Murphy and repeats what he's told as Sadie walks up and nuzzles into Murphy's hand. Solten then adds for himself, “It sounds like you have been a good man yourself. It's a shame you can't come with us.”
Murphy simply loses the tough cop attitude, grabs Sadie and pulls her to him, hugging her tightly as he cries for a bit, finally responding to Sadie's statement through tear filled eyes, "You saved my life many times over, you only have to leave because you shielded me from that explosion… It's not fair.” Then he turns and still struggling to speak tells Solten, knowing that not only is it his responsibility but what Sadie would expect of him, that, “I... Can't leave, not yet anyway. I took an oath to my city and I cannot abandon that.”
Nuall nods to himself and quietly says, “A man of honor.”
Meanwhile Solten can't help but tear up a bit at the obvious emotion between Sadie and Murphy as he sais, “I hope the city knows the man they have, and the partner they lost.”
Oberon informs Murphy and Sadie that, "Time here is twenty times faster than where we're going. If it takes you a week to adjust, it'll be roughly five months before we return."
Sadie reluctantly pulls away to go back to Solten's touch so she can talk to Murphy again. “I guess this is goodbye then. Tell your children bedtime stories about me. Oh and take it easy on the new guy or girl they aren't a super dog like me.” She tries to joke.
Murphy responds with, “Twenty times? Come back in a year, hopefully less, and you can meet them.”
Sadie turns to Solten and asks him to ask Oberon, “Can we do that?”
Which he does and adds to Oberon, “You know how these things work better than me, but I'd be happy to escort if we can."
Oberon answers with, "Yeah… We can… Actually…" he holds out a deck of cards… "If Dworkin gives you a pack of these… if not… it's only about a days travel."

Sadie then turns back to Murphy and tells Solten to tell him, “I'll be here if at all possible. Oh, and stop making excuses and ask the girl out, she likes you, you dummy. I can smell it every time you're around her. Plus her body language is obvious, and no more excuses I'm tired of hearing them.” Sticking her tongue out slightly. “This guy can face down bullets almost daily but can't even ask a girl out." She adds looking up at Solten obviously meant to be shared.
Solten repeats all this unable to contain a chuckle as he does. “We'll be back to... check back on your progress.” He adds grining.
“Um... yeah...” Murphy manages to get out slightly embarrassed, unable to keep from blushing slightly.
Sadie then informs Solten, “This is getting really hard, we really need to go.”
Solten glances around the room then turns to Oberon, “Well that's that then, onto the next adventure." Turning to Murphy, "Murphy , it was a pleasure.”
Nuall respond by bowing slightly to Murphy, “A pleasure meeting you Sir. Thank you kindly for the assistance. I wish you all the best.”
Murphy responds standing up and brushing away the tears, “Take good care of her, she deserves a place of honor, try and see she gets it. Let me escort you out so there's no question how you left. I can't be there when you leave. I think... it will be too much. Besides, I apparently have to see about a girl.” he says trying to grin, as he escorts everyone from the premises.

((Thanks for processing all of that! It flows pretty well now. A couple typos you may want to fix if you have the chance. The only real thing I'd clarify, though, is that in the last post Solten directs his question about coming back to Oberon. The way it's phrased makes it sound like he's asking Sadie.))

Mostly fixed I guess. Either way I'm done
Now we can continue on to a world of magic and mystery

Re: 07.02: Sufficiently Advanced
Anyhow...
Once you're clear of prying eyes and outside the immediate city, Oberon starts leading the group. Over the course of several hours, the pavement of the road you're on starts to loosen, until you turn off onto a dirt road, which becomes a dirt wagon-trail, which becomes a well worn path through a field.
Oberon offers, "We can find a tavern after we see a druid. Some place where magic can translate easily."
The terrain starts to get a little swampier, the ground softening as the plants change. Finally, a small hut shifts it's way forward, changing very slightly every few feet until you're in front of a small, well build stone hut with a thatched roof.

"Well, since this doesn't look like a tavern I assume this is where we will find your druid. I assume from what you have friend Oberon that a druid is a worker of magic. I would prefer to avoid too many more surprises tonight. Is there anything in particular I should be expecting?"

"You really have no idea, do you?" Oberon observes. "Okay, uh, druid is a term for magic user or priest. Usually they deal with nature. Still, I was looking for someone who can enable Sadie to talk to us, specifically, with magic. When we walk, we can go anywhere. As long as we have a want, we can find something to fulfill it."

A look of irritation flashes over Nuall's face. "No, I really have no idea! I was under them impression that I was along on this trip for that very reason."
Nuall takes a deep breath and calms himself. "My apologies my friend. My concepts of reality have been knocked very far askew this evening. It is never a comfortable feeling to realize that you are backward and ignorant. I shall try to ask fewer naive questions and instead watch and try to learn."
"Again, I apologize and thank you...all of you."

Sadie walks up, and nuzzles Nuall's hand comfortingly. As if to say, "everything's alright." She also takes a second to glare at Oberon as if to say, "Don't be a dink."
If for some reason Nuall takes it as her trying to enter touch telepathy with him and opens the channel she'll say. "You are neither backwards, nor ignorant, and you are certainly not acting as such. You are here to learn, and asking questions is what you should be doing. No one, not even Oberon knows everything. A fool never asks questions when he doesn't know the answer, and the ignorant stay ignorant by assuming they know it all. A good teacher, never talks down to a student for asking a question. If you were truly ignorant, you wouldn't be asking any questions at all. So don't stop just because he's being rude. Also if the universe is as grand and infinite as implied by Oberon, then we're all backwards compared to somebody, and I doubt you'll ever find someone who isn't. I've lived a long life unable to ask questions, there are a lot of major mistakes I wouldn't have made if I could have. So don't waste that gift."

Solten responds to Nuall: "I think Oberon here is as surprised that we are clueless about these things, as we are that they exist." He turns to Oberon. "Come, let us see what this 'druid' can do for us... or to us."
