Cameron smiles a little. "Yep. This is purely mechanics. The fine work and the gears, well... that's what I apprenticed for. Honestly, most of my work was used for... bigger things. Like siege engines. But the principles are the same. Also... Not necessarily all magic or technologies work where I'm from, so it' sjsut as well I didn't learn them. It sounds like.. well, perhaps we can learn from each other, if that is amenable."

He examines the sculpture and the joints closely. "Honestly, this is amazing work. Highest level of craftsmanship... I can see why you are well-known. It would be an honor and a pleasure to work with you, and I believe the others would agree."

[Joshua]

Zunkar will nod. "When do you have to leave?" He will ask.

[khadjair]

"Whenever you're ready. Probably the sooner the better... Let me confer something with Osmund."

Cameron will go find Osmund (if he must - he migh tbe here for the result of the contest). "I'm not sure how many people we can take through with the trumps. If you're up for it, I can contact Morgana, and once I'm through with whoever I bring with, you can come to me with whoever we had to leave behind, if you're okay with that?"

[Joshua]

"I think it's a matter of carrying. Sort of how much you can pick up with your mind. Maybe a person or two for each of us? Maybe Zunkar can help a bit as well?" Osmund will offer.

(OOC: This doesn't seem all that importaint. I was thinking Zunkar, one of his brothers, and the priest (who is awesome) will actually want to come. Sound good?)

Cameron nods and considers. "I've never stretched this this far... Let me see how many I can take on my own, and then you can follow with whoever can't make it with me. This is one fo the few times I think we can experiment safely..."

(OOC: This sounds good, and we can move forward or roll into another thread depending on how the narrative needs to run)

[Joshua]

Osmund will nod. "The cards are new, right?" He ponders. "Definitely strange to mix such power into such a fragile form*. Perhaps so that they could be destroyed if they fall into the wrong hands?" He shrugs.

"Did you find your desire then?" Osmund will ask, then cough. "For an apprentice."

"Well, all this is new to me, so I can't say either way, though those who would know regard them as new." He considers the card for a moment, then jumps at th ecomment.

"I needed an assistant, not just an apprentice, and... Don't give me that look. He is definitely.. easy on the eyes. That wasn't what I was thinking about, if that's what you mean."

Orcish blushes, as it turns out, are odd things given the greenish cast to their skin - instead of a flushed red they turn an almost mottled bark-like brown.

"Of course not." Osmund says. "Still, look at what you found. He is what you were looking for. More than you would have ever expected to find randomly. Perhaps, you built him for you, out of infinite possibilities. You can do that for almost anything you want."

"I.. I guess so," Cameron finally stammers, then shrugs. "This is.. a useful trick to know, I should've realized it was a possibiliy but... Nothing at all about this new life is obvious to me. It definitely isn't suited to a mechanichian's way of seeing things, that's for certain."

He blushes a little as he considers. "It's more than possible that other desires crept in. I have, after all, been away from any sort of interaction for a while, and aside from an eventful bit of time at the Court I was six months into a grinding siege. Maybe I need something more, too. But enough about that. We should get the logistics down before we charge back. Morgana hasn't tried to contact me yet so I imagine that means time here flows more quickly than there. We just have no idea how much more quickly."

he cluck his tongue for a moment as he looks to the ceiling. "I wonder... if it's possible to make a timepiece that can track time in the Courts no matter where you are out here in the Shadows. That would be an interesting trick, and handy too, now wouldn't it?"

[Joshua]

"Should be.*" Osmund will ponder that for a bit.

While you're wating, Father Stormroar will approach. "So, I'm going with you." The old priest will state. "I want my nephew to have good things, and it seems like my talents might be better served elsewhere." He looks at the much smaller Osmund... "It's been a while since someone was able to beat me... and I haven't been knocked around like that since bootcamp."

*: Silliest use of construct ever! I mean, at 12 points, it's insanely expensive for a timepiece. There's probably a better way to do that.
