"Not really. Still in a coma. He apparently has a life-force, so, he could wake up." The dragon will say. He still looks a little nervous around Alys, but not nearly as bad as last time. "Uh... Dworkin hasn't ordered a room set for him yet. And Ashara isn't willing to order his current quarters moved until he wakes up."

He offers a hand to Spellbinder, then Cameron. "It is good to meet you."

Alys will address Spellbinder with the missing context: "Kokytus got dragged through Rebma's Pattern yesterday. You'd have to ask someone else for much more detail than that, however."

"Dragged through and now comatose? Seems to bear out my thoughts about the mental aspects and the desirability of forcing someone into it."

"well, it's more complicated than that to be honest. He was about to fail in walking the Pattern, and was dragged to the middle. By Krajk. So it's possible his mental malady is a function of his lack of inner strength or whatever it is that allows you to survive walking it."

"And you can be made to walk it under duress. Dworkin more or less forced me with threats of assassination - a you said, "walk or cease to be". So I walked, but I also had no idea what it would mean until I was at the center. I'd say it was accidental, except Dworkin clearly planned for me." He shakes his head, taking a gulp this time.

"So I'd say as for being walked along the Pattern... if you had the fortitude for it, that may be sufficient. Experimentation is.. problematic, however, since failing to walk the Pattern may leave you comatose, or quite dead. And that's about all I know about it myself. Harrune is making a study of such things."

(OOC: Okay...that's odd. I put up a post responding to Cameron, Alys and Kizak earlier. After I hit submit and went back to the In Character index it showed Wyvern's new post, which I promptly responded to. The first of my two posts vanished.)

"Hopefully this is all academic. I may still decide to walk the Pattern. I'm just want to take my time and keep as many options open as I can. Sounds like I'm still best off avoiding Dworkin for now if I can. If I can't...well, we'll see."

Kevin will shake the dragons hand. "Kizak. A pleasure to meet you. Sorry if we're boring you with this metaphysical debating."

((OOC: What it's supposed to do is, if someone else posts while you're writing your post, take you back to the compose-your-post screen with a little warning saying "someone else posted, you may wish to review your post". In other words, just clicking "submit" isn't guaranteed to actually make a post.))

Alys has nothing to add to the conversation right this second, but she's continuing to walk, slowly moving the group towards Ashara.

The dragon will shrug. "It is actually quite nice to hear that the metaphysics here are different than elsewhere. Although, oddly, customs are not all that different. Lots of dangerous undercurrents beneath the dignity. I find the public actions* here a little refreshing."

Kevin laughs. "I can relate to that. There's a lot to be said for the honesty of a straight up fight. I'll take that over two-faced backstabbing any day of the week. Unfortunately sometimes it doesn't work out that easily."

"It's all a little anachronistic to me, still. Back... where I'm from, we claim to have moved beyond all this, but really.. it's all the same, just wrapped up in different clothes. Though I am still having trouble adjusting to a place where a fist to the face is a greeting. That is going to take some getting used to, still.."

He chuckles wistfully. "But then again, this is the world we are a part of now. Might as well get used to it all and go native quickly. It's a very hard place to get out of your blood once it's there. I guess all roads lead to Amber. Eventually."

"'All roads lead to Amber'? Well, I suppose if you have Pattern, you can..." Alys pauses, and blinks. "Actually, I wonder... Perhaps that is a part of the price of Pattern? It would fit reasonably well with Dworkin's actions."
