Magic

There are two major types of magic in Revenant Company.

Elemental magic is practiced by Nephilim. It's possible a well respected panther or human might start an initiation into it's use, but it takes years if not decades of practice to learn and get right.

Necromancy is stronger than elemental magic and deals with animating dead things (and concepts) as well as manipulating the soul. It's a lot quicker to learn, but each spell takes it's own sacrifice. Also, those learning it tend to go mad.

Elemental Magic is based on the four elements, and really needs to be fleshed out.

Basic ideas include elemental blasts, shields, etc... as well as some high level functions such as water magic being used for healing and regrowing limbs.

Necromancy is very powerful as practiced by the scarabs.

The modern Prometheus of necromancy is Mort, a shred who bonded with the soul of a sane scarab, Tzzkk. He, in turn, taught the basics to the friars of the human military.
Necromancy is still such a taboo among panthers and Nephilim, that none (except possibly a pc, who would be the first) have taken up Mort's offer for teaching.

Each spell requires a sacrifice to learn. Some are simple, some are complex. All need to be fleshed out.

As an example, the necromantic spell that causes a scarab to be distributed among multiple bodies requires a sacrifice of "all respect for life".
