Shaelblun University is an ancient institution, built out from around one of the earliest missions in the area, and is (debatably) the oldest institution of learning in California.

Professor Phillip Aquilas, Senior Administrator

To the mundane world, Professor Aquilas (or, sometimes, simply "The Professor") is merely the single most-senior tenured teacher on the SU campus. He teaches a few small classes here and there (by invitation only), handles a few pieces of administrative work (primarily in admissions and financial aid), runs freshman orientation week, and sits around in the library coffee house regaling students with tales of the good old days. A number of other professors are jealous of his seemingly cushy job; they might not be quite so eager to take his place if they knew that he was also in charge of making sure that, say, none of the school's supernatural students manage to accidentally call up demons and kill them all. Or maybe all it'd take is for them to notice his daily 6AM jog.

As a wizard, Aquilas' specialization is water evocation (though it annoys him when people assume that just based on his name) and thaumaturgy - though, to be honest, more the latter than the former. It's relatively common knowledge that his magical talents do not lend themselves to combat; less commonly known is that he spent thirty years serving as a navy seal, and is quite capable of handling himself in a fight, magic or no. (At the very least Warden Filstin seems unaware of this; apparently if you're not a verifiable battle-mage you're just another glorified pencil-pusher.)

Aspects: Professor of Wizardry, It's Like Herding Cats, Versatility Trumps Power, A Good Morning's Run, Memories of Vietnam
Apex Skills: Lore and Contacts

Warden Mark Filstin

Mr. Filstin rules the SU chapel with an iron fist, delivering fiery lectures on the evils of mankind (mixed with the occasional fragment of actual useful advice, such as the efficacy of a home's threshold against "the devil's powers", and the dangers of inviting in someone you don't know.) For the most part, his sermons are attended by the older teachers and workers at SU, and avoided by the actual students. He also runs the school's fencing club, where, for a few hours every week, he transforms into a kind and patient (if still somewhat gruff) teacher.

As a wizard, the Warden works primarily with fire, earth, and wards, and mostly stays on campus to defend the school (though he's technically responsible for the entire SF bay area.) He also teaches SU's course on the Laws of Magic, as well as a one-week refresher at the start of every semester. As his teaching style relies on rote memorization and repetition, several students have simply compiled notebooks of all the questions and answers he uses and then proceeded to tune out his speech entirely.

Aspects: Warden Preacher, Fire And Brimstone, No Mercy For The Wicked, Not Quite As Unkind As He Seems
Apex Skills: Conviction and Intimidation
