Kerberos is slightly delayed by a small patrol of serpents, but it's easy enough to simply wait out of sight around a corner until he's in position.

The room (once you look around the corner and commit to the attack) contains one of the large serpents you fought before, as well as a fair variety of smaller specimens.

Kerberos edges around the far corner of the room, in his humanoid wolf form. His empty right eye socket flares with blue light for a moment, before lashing out with a bolt of freezing energy directed at the largest serpent.
Unlike the frost attacks you used back in the mountainside fight, this seems to have been a fairly effective attack. The thing is still moving, but bits of frozen blood have punctured its skin in a spiderweb pattern radiating from the point of impact, and it cracks and snaps as the creature turns to respond to Kerberos' assault.

We will move in to try and finish the serpent off before he can unleash any spells, the usual pack tactics.

You are able to drop the large serpent, though it immediately begins to heal from your attack. Fierce follows up against it, making sure that at least it won't get up any time soon.

Fang picks a new target amongst the lesser serpents, and rips its throat out.

Vorel casually saunters out and claws a gash into one of your foes; it seems rather surprised to find itself suddenly injured.

One of the serpents, apparently a bit quicker on the uptake than the rest, spreads a cobra-like hood and catches your eyes. For a timeless moment you hang there, caught in its gaze like an insect trapped in amber... and then the serpent collapses in a spray of blood as Fierce and Fang rip it to pieces.

About half of your foes are encased in solid blocks of ice by now, and Kerberos is standing between you and those still moving.

Vorel appears to have only dispatched one enemy before falling prey to the same hypnotic gaze you just experienced; currently she is walking slowly towards a second cobra-hooded serpent in the far corner of the room, heedless of the attacks another pair of serpents are making against her.

Fierce and fang will each attack one of the two serpents about to spring as Maya leaps over Vorel to attack the serpent controlling her.

While your attack doesn't kill the cobra outright, it does break its gaze, and Fierce, Fang, and Vorel are able to easily dispatch the pair of serpents that were attacking her.

This leaves two serpents still standing. The cobra turns its gaze on you, apparently trying to make an opening for its ally, who is trying to dash past you. This time, though, you're able to shrug off the hypnotic effects, and easily clothesline the naga-like creature.

Kerberos makes a few quick arcane gestures as he strides over to it, and finishes it off with a frost-empowered blow from his claws.

Maya turns back to the serpent a feral grin showing upon her face revealing her fangs, leaps upon him slamming him into the ground and tears his throat out with her claws.

She then draws a scroll from her side, throws it to Kerberos and sais: "It's time to leave." and starts heading back towards the way out.

Kerberos casually catches the scroll and replies, Yes. I'll need just a moment to finish off this elite guard, though. No sense in letting it get back up and sound the alarm.

He walks over to where the largest serpent is still slowly healing from the damage you dealt to it. Ice flows from his hand, encasing the creature. It's still healing, for now... but there are no air holes in its prison.

You encounter a few patrols on your way out, but none of them contain any of the elite serpents, and they are easily dispatched.

At Vorel's home.

Maya: "So this is your eye?"

I would assume so. At least, I can think of no other reason I would be linked to an artifact I have never seen before.

Maya: "So far I've only heard you speak telepathically. Is there a reason?"
