The first age began with the creation of the universe, and ended with the creation and sealing away of the titans.
Demons and undead both date from the end of the first age; they are corruptions of the natural order brought about by the presence of the titans.
The second age was a time of wonders; most major artifacts are relics of the second age. The end of the second age came when demons managed to breach the prison of one of the titans. While the breach was repaired, this cost the lives of at least 90% of the world - including the gods of the time.
The third age was much like the modern age, though different approaches to magic left behind relics that we cannot reproduce. Most minor artifacts date from the third age, and are merely different from what today's mage-smiths can construct (as opposed to vastly more powerful, as second age relics are). The third age ended in much the same way as the second age.
The fourth age has, so far, lasted for three thousand years. Most modern scholars predict that the fourth age will last for at least another two thousand years.
A more detailed history of recent events, empires, kingdoms, etc. is still pending.
