Point Map
Point Map
Oaklake, the nearest town. About 300 Miles west of town.
Old Graveyard: About 5 miles east of town. (2 hours travel) Undead spontaneously rise in the area. Source of taint is unknown, but contained. So, it's been a low priority. Plus, it keeps superstitious monsters away, like the goblins.
Warren: About 20 miles north-east of the old graveyard. Set into a small mine in a small hill at the start of foothills for a mountain. Maybe 100 goblins? Has not discovered the potential to walk around the graveyard yet.
Chasm: About 60 miles due south of town, is a large break in the earth. A small group of Kobolds has made their home there. They tend to be fairly xenophobic and not prone to overland trips that last more than a day... so... probably safe. Not a particularly large tribe, most likely an offshoot from the ones that live further south east, with the dragon.

Re: Point Map
Other bits:
There has to be a wizard tower in the mountains by the chasm. (chasm is listed as "exposed underdark" BTW... So, kind of a river / sea that collapsed into the underdark years ago...)
There's a mass-transit ferry system that once went over said sea. I think someone has a map to/of it. There's a bit of the "port" symbol there.
There are more goblins in the forested hills... Likely near the Mines of Madness.
In the 'nook' on the east side, I was thinking small orc tribe. It'd the teepees.
There are a number of mines in the area. From top to bottom:
The mines of Madness: Has the purest ore, and perhaps the secret to immortality. (this adventure is Gonzo!... OOC warning)
the Iron Mines (Unmarked, by the orc tribe): Has a good source of iron to make steel. Very dangerous.
The Collapsed Mines: (middle on the map) Most of the Iron has been removed. Very out of use. Has a Zorbo infestation, and a potential link to the underdark. The party did not go down that part.
The Monster Mines: Has some good ore, but it's been almost entirely stripped. This is mostly known for the monstrosities and magical mishaps that inhabit it, as well as rumors of a side-entrance to the wizard tower.
the Kobold Warren: Has the benefit that the kobolds are probably digging up the ore. You might have a better chance at the orc encampment. Those Kobolds are... tricky as hell.
Still not sure about the desert. Might put the kobold's dragon there.
Do people want the ginormous, in-progress map?
