Bones

Post by Joshua »

One of the most horrific necromancers ever to walk the earth, Bones is... well... a balding, dumpy, short man with a warm and charming smile that reminds you of your grandfather/a clean shaven santa. A long-term villian for Plasto, Were-Force (okay, he was in a total of two issues, but there were only 15!), and Shift, he rarely shows himself, sending summoned minions instead. When he does take a direct hand in things, he makes sure to wear a mask and disguise his voice. A few appearances have him using necromantic stilts to appear taller, more Sauron-like.

His minions are deadly and powerful, plus he can (if he wants) see through their eyes and direct them like a hive-mind.

One of the creepier aspects of Bones is that he does not give off any real necromantic energy when he's not actively using magic. There's no blight on the earth, no draining of life from nearby animals, no dead insects. He hides his necromantic corruption near perfectly. What's worse, some of his minions also can hide the fact they're animated corpses.

Recently, Bones has become more obsessed with immortality and locking away his death.

Minions: As a reminder, no matter how independent one of Bones' minions seems, they are all completely loyal. Even the intelligent ones, all he needs to do is dismiss the spell keeping them animated and they revert back to dead.

Shadow Wolves: Black shadow-armor around a wolf skeleton with glowing red eyes. Can teleport and are expert trackers. The shadow and bone-claws and fangs can inflict deadly damage.

"Living" Vampires: Screw you Twilight, these vampires have a living essence grafted on to their undead form. As such, they are weaker than normal vampires, but no longer subject to any banes except fire. They're even able to eat.

Bone-Double: Like Dr. Doom before him, Bones keeps a number of animated body-doubles with various powers. Killing one, while a blow to his resources, is often a sign that you've been distracted from his actual goal.
