The Kung-Fu

Mr. Bai Shu

The Shadow-Master of the Osaka clan and owner of the Junior Warriors Anti-Bullying franchise, Mr. Bai Shu is a longtime foe of Roundhouse and general supplier of ninja to the NYC area. Almost all appearances of Mr. Shu have involved the heroes knowing he runs an oriental mafia in the city, but being utterly unable to get proof of that connection. As such, Mr. Shu enjoys a rare level of public awareness and regularly does TV interviews.

He is an outspoken opponent against bullying, to the point where he has actually called off heists to intervene. Cyberbullying in particular tweaks him off. It has been stated that he believes Roundhouse to be a bully.

Personally, Mr. Shu is a master of stealth, breaking and entering, showmanship, stage-illusion, escape and hand-to-hand combat. While one or two non-cannon appearances of him have used actual magic, most powers he have are attributed to drugs, other low-tech tricks, and pressure-point techniques.

Roundhouse

Roundhouse is very-clearly not Chuck Norris in a very legally distinct way. That being said, he's a martial-arts anti-hero who likes to end fights with a roundhouse kick to the head. His comic, debuting in the early 80's was full of intentional broken aesops about the use of violence to stop violence. To date, longterm fans of the series are unsure if these were intended as a parody or were unintentionally hilarious.

Roundhouse himself was never a popular character, and his comic quickly evolved to giving his villains more time than he got. Often he was portrayed as the "heroic" boogeyman to scare villains who were not nearly as bad as he thought they were. Likewise, his team-up events were used to highlight the other hero's morality.

Monkey (Previously: Stone Monkey, Monkey Fist, and The Monkey)

Garrett Brock was a small time thug before falling in with Mr. Bai Shu. In Shu's ninja academy, his latent powers awoke, allowing him to absorb kinetic energy. For a ninja, this meant he was completely silent, absorbing footfalls and other minor sounds (he could extend the absorption radius a foot or two from his body), able to fall several stories without being hurt, and taking the kinetic energy from punches and weapons and simply absorbing it.

In his first comic appearance, this absorbed energy became strength, but that was rapidly forgotten. More recent writers have said this is the reason he doesn't need to eat as much as the other ninja. (Not that they really were shown eating much.) One writer wanted to incorporate a 'kinetic battery' inside Monkey that would explode if he absorbed too much at once (it bled off over time). However, nothing came of that, as Roundhouse was cancelled before that plot-line finished.

In superdickery.com's Seduction of the Innocent, half of Roundhouse's appearances are about him wanting to "spank that Monkey".
