Plasto

Dr. Benjamin Eddington was a genius in robotics...of a sort...by 1960's standards. His greatest creation was Plasto, The Synthetic Man, an android made mostly of plastics.

Plasto's glossy translucent green skin and solid mass of “hair” means that he can't for human. His programming does allow him to understand humans. Whether his emotions are genuine or as artificial as the rest of him has been the subject of debate for decades, but regardless of the answer his behavior is very “human”.

Plasto is agile (d10 in Savage Worlds terms), but the rest of his attributes are lackluster (d6). His sole power is the ability to manipulate plastics. (In SW terms this is low level Force Control with a limitation that there must be a suitable amount of plastic in the area.) For a reason no one has been able to explain his powers don't affect his own body. As an android he doesn't need to eat, drink or sleep, but he does need to recharge daily.

His body is vulnerable to microwaves, and they can easily incapacitate him. Fortunately the shielding on microwave ovens has improved to the point where they are almost never a problem for him any more. Unfortunately it has become a well-known weakness.

His other “weakness” is that his powers haven't improved over time like those of most of the world's supers. While he had been a mid-range hero, time has left him behind and now he's mostly considered a joke. For a while the internet was ripping on the “green” hero who was made of non-biodegradable petrochemicals. In its most recent ranking of heroes, SuperStarz® magazine put him at the bottom of their list, referring to him as “the Windows Vista of superheroes...never all that popular in the first place and now terribly out of date.”

Despite it all, Plasto is still out there doing the best he can.
