Name: Cass Race: Displacer Beast Gender: Female Description: Cass is a relatively ordinary-looking displacer beast; a thin, black, six-legged panther with a pair of barb-tipped tentacles (similar to those of a squid) sprouting from her shoulders. She doesn't look exceptionally strong or fast or durable, but does seem to project an aura of competence and control, as if everything around her was falling in place exactly according to plan... She wears mithril full plate armor, its chest blazoned with a blood-red rendition of the holy symbol of Hunger-In-Darkness - a stylized fanged mouth open wide. A massive rectangular shield (usually stowed on her back, and also made of mithril) bears the same symbol. The armor is not entirely mithril, though; the edges are filled in with more flexible black dragon scales, in place of the normal clumsy overlapping metal joints. Reputation: Str: 20 Dex: 16 Con: 18 Int: enough Wis: too much Cha: 22 Few have heard of Cass; fewer still actually know who or what she is. Still, a few determined adventurers, seeking a truly powerful oracle to answer some intractable question, have eventually stumbled upon her. But such encounters are rare, and even the most knowledgeable bard or priest is unlikely to know more than her name. There are, of course, plenty of stories of adventurers who went hunting monsters in the depths of the earth and simply vanished, or occasionally were driven off by displacer beasts wielding powerful spells and items. But Cass herself does not appear in such tales. |

Cass' Pack: Ferim is Cass' (current) mate. He is clearly old; streaks of grey drift through his fur, and dozens of scars mar his hide. Yet it's equally clear that he's still physically quite powerful; he is far more heavily built than Cass herself, and moves with a degree of grace that would be the envy of any normal displacer beast. Ferim wears red dragonhide armor, and a necklace decorated with the teeth of creatures he has killed. Abernathy is Cass' middle son - though eldest of those who are still part of her pack. He is a sleek young beast, and moves with a degree of pride and confidence that seems out of place given his comparatively frail build. Each of his six legs is adorned with a silver bracelet set with gems and runes, and he wears a simple golden earing in his right ear. Skirrik is Cass' youngest son. He's a bit small, and fairly ordinary looking - when you can spot him at all, anyway. Eva and Alice are twins, less than a year old. They are small, fluffy, excitable, and overly curious. Fortunately, it's hard to get yourself into real trouble when your mother knows where you're going to be hours before you get there. |
