07.03x: Refuge of Dreams

Lyra looks over at the game board, taking in the overall condition of it then noting the a fore mentioned details. "Yes, we should make sure we're not gone for too long before we get into discussions and further investigation." She gives Nathrezell a warm smile before going over to stand next to her husband and contemplate the workings of the board. "So will adjusting relative time flow be more or less complicated than creating a clockwork companion?" she inquires of no one in particular.

Nate will sigh, "It's a basic setting here..." He will point to what obviously doesn't look like a set of controls along the side of the chessboard. "If you know how to set it. So, it's been about three days here since you left. Tricky... And we're currently set to... Ten times that. So, should have synched with where you left. Interesting." he will hmmm... "As for the rest, it's been... set faster than that. I can double the time without too much effort. Rather strange aspect that. Coyote designed this place, around the time the titans were created."

[Rasanam]

Rasanam will look at the controls, and ask questions, and generally push the conversation towards abstract magic / reality theory - at least for as long as other people in the scene let him. It's probably safe to assume that, by the time that's interrupted, local time is moving rather faster than Amber time.

Changing the speed requires actual mental effort. The switches and controls use the operator as a power source.

From the descriptions you can get from Nate, he is more than willing to admit that most of this is shadow magic. The shapeshifting comes from a side effect of a chaotic force. And no, you better not say it's name here, thank you very much.

[Rasanam]

Rasanam will put in the actual mental effort to adjust local time, pushing it to either as fast as he can, or as fast as he thinks the mechanism will allow without damaging anything, or maybe five minutes of effort, whichever of the three comes first.

[Wyvern]

"Speaking of Chaos," Alys comments, "Have you heard what happened to Clan Angel?"

Lyra listens intently to the discussion of magical theory, even if she doesn't fully understand all of what is being discussed. When Rasanam begins adjusting the time, she'll study that quite closely, trying to learn how to control it herself, assuming he's doing it correctly.

Nate will look at Alys and narrow his eyes. "You..." He will grasp for a blade, a blood sword forming in his hand. He does not 'draw' it, and the stance is defensive. "What do you know of such things? Are they done hunting...?" He almost ends that with us, but chances are only someone familiar with him would be able to tell.

[Wyvern]

Alys smiles. "Cast down. Stripped of what they stole. They style themselves as 'Clan Demon', now, and fight and die to try and hold even a part of what was once under their rule. As for the second question... I would not care to bet on it, though I will also admit to being perhaps a bit paranoid about such things."

[Joshua]

Nate will ponder for a moment. "Who are you?" He will demand of Alys.
