Explaining Renown

Each Renown is given a short explanation followed by a table. The table is my opinion of renown worthy actions, this is not law and these are just examples to try and put renown in a better context. If you do a virtue above your rating then you should be considered for more renown of that type, if you have gained a renown before for the same reason the elders may be less inclined to give it to you. If you comit a sin below your rating you should be considered for renown loss.

Glory

Glory is a measure of pure martial prowess and fearlessness. If 2 werewolves get in a fight the one with more glory should win. If this isn't true then one of them needs to gain or lose glory. This isn't a rule its just generally excepted. Though there may be exceptions, for instance a truly fearless werewolf may have more glory than a werewolf who is a better fighter but is over cautious.

Honor

Honor is a measure of a werewolf's honesty and general moral conviction. If 2 werewolves are accusing each other of wrong doings the one with more honor should be beleived. If this isn't true then one of them needs to gain or lose honor. This isn't a rule its just generally excepted. Exceptions do exist, for instance diferent tribes have different beliefs on what is honorable. Two completly honorable men could both believe the other had acted immorally because of what they learned from thier tribe.

Wisdom

Wisdom is a measure of a werewolf's knowledge, intellegence and ability to just make good decisions. If 2 werewolves are arguing over the best plan of action the one with the most wisdom should be the one who is followed by other garou, not to mention be right. If this isn't true then one of them needs to gain or lose widom. This isn't a rule its just generally excepted. Exceptions come up, not every garou can know everything and sometimes one garou just knows more about a specific field than someone with more wisdom.

Moots

Renown is gained and lost at moots. Renown changes must be recomended by the appropriate elder. The Ahroun gives Glory, Theurge gives Wisdom, Philodox gives honor, and the Ragabash strips all three. The Galiard must confirm these recomendations at the moot. The elders renown is usually handled by the Alpha. The Alpha nominates the Ahroun for glory, Theurges wisdom, etc. And confirms the Galiards glory recomendations.

Gaining positions

Only Garou of rank 3 may hold Elder positions. If two Garou of diffent rank want a position the one who is higher ranked gets it. If they are the same rank they must challenge for it. The mediator is the Master of the Challenge or the Alpha depending on the situation.
Since no one in the game will start at Rank 3 the sept will have no elders until people gain renown. There can be an Alpha, Master of the Challenge, etc. But for renown the sept will have to moon bridge in elders from other septs to gain or lose renown.
