I'm still thinking Renny is pretty visual-oriented in how she thinks of searching in Shadow, and how to visualize "Has a certain set of magical skills which will work in Amber" is a lot more complicated that "Is good with a sword and helps damsels in distress." It's just a matter of time, though, till she starts stretching her wings more. ;)

"I'm looking to recruit more help for the police, if that's what you mean," Renny replies to the intruder. (I'm assuming you would have said if he appeared actively threatening...)

The priest bows stiffly, "Forgive me, I'm Father-Confessor Lane. I wished to mention that my home, the, uh... shadow, I am from has almost no crime thanks to our policing force. I am not sure if the techniques would work here, but they are trained as expert detectives. They are also used to extensive cities. My home city would stretch from the sea past the castle and perhaps the mountain."

Renny nods. "Excellent. Where can I get ahold of you? I need to get moving today, but later this week I'll stop by to talk with you."

Lane will give you an address, of a church, where he can be reached. "I'm sorry for interrupting you, but when I heard you were looking for policing elites, I thought I could help." He will bow out, clearly feeling like he stopped a discussion that was more important than what he had to say.

Carlisle will add when he's gone... "I think he's a member of one of the larger new religions in the city. From what I understand, they preach a socialist life where the city and community is to be placed over the individual." (Despite current RL connotations, she really means socialist as communal property and giving.) "They do quite a bit of charity work and take in a few of the newcomer strays."

Renny looks at the door Lane left through, clearly thinking things over but also making sure it is shut. "I hate to be suspicious of someone who might just a good man thinking of the greater good," she says quietly, "but that was way too damned convenient. How the hell did he learn what we were talking about and get over here so quickly?"

Osmund will offer, "We were discussing it in public before we came over. Still, that was rather fast."

"I'm not saying it couldn't happen by chance, but that would have been pretty fast work even if he had a spy following us." Renny considers a moment. "Carlisle, mind if we trying leaving straight from here?"

Carlisle nods, "Of course. I'll do a sweep for a tail in a bit, if you think that's good." She smiles and lets you both into one of the private consultation rooms. "I might be able to get a good disguise of you leaving through a different exit, if you think that'll help."

Renny nods. "I don't want to waste too much of your resources here, but if the Father-Confessor" -- the phrase definitely does not trip off of her tongue -- "is trying to pull something here, it's probably worth knowing."

"If what you're planning makes my job easier, it's worth it." She smiles and shrugs. "Uh. how will you be leaving?"

(OOC: What card might you use? and do you have a place in mind to get the extra security from? It looks like another player might be on this track, but new blood is always good. I think you have some fairly experienced captains at your home shadow.)
