Willoughby tries to discern what orders the orcs have been given, and to locate any likely-looking water barrels-- keeping in mind Ametrine's report. He also looks up the slope to see what has happened, but doesn't pull out the telescope unless he's very certain of a safe position.

Mr. Willoughby:
There are few water barrels; mostly small individual orc water skins scattered about the camp. Still, for one of your skill, it's easy enough to slit those open without being observed. And the barrels can likewise be dealt with.*

Ametrine:
You're able to easily catch and dismember the first of the flying scouts. The second dives for the cover of the main camp, and meets Mirri's hammer coming the other way. She seems to have healed herself some on the way up, too.

The third, caught between two such powerful opponents, attempts to flee off to one side. Mirri won't be able to catch up with it - but you can do so easily.

* I somehow doubt that poison, per se, is Mr. Willoughby's thing. But this would represent a perfect opportunity for even something so comparatively benign as a laxative...

Maya signals the two gaurds to throw another tree as she tells the bard to get them out of there and takes off to join her pack.

Fierce and Fang target another serpent and strike again.

Willoughy does, indeed, slit the water skins. He is more creative with the barrels: on several he employs a laxative, on some an emetic, on others, a diuretic.* He pauses to note the location of the major bonfires, and similarly attempts to spot the larger stores of food-- the ones that are exposed, anyway.

Maya:
With the serpents distracted, no fire goes to meet Fierce and Fang as they move in for another attack - though again, one manages to land a bite on Fierce as she goes past. The results are more or less the same as the first time: noticeable injury on the targeted serpent, but nothing it seems to care about.

The log also hits unscathed, momentarily pinning two of them to the ground. Most likely they'll fix that soon enough, though; they seem to have a plentiful supply of fire.

We may, Fierce comments, need to revise our tactics. That one we dropped? It's healing.

Ametrine:
You may presume you chase down the last of the flying serpents that was in the air. There are three more in the camp, but there are also four of the ground-bound serpents there, just waiting for you or Mirri to come into range...

Mr. Willoughby:
Your sabotage proceeds with no complications; food supplies consist mostly of dried meat and other (comparative) delicacies. The bonfires are easy to locate; one contains three of the flying serpents, watching the air nervously. The others contain the four remaining larger nagas, watching the sky with the attitude of a hunter just waiting for their target to come within range...

Staying out of AA range, Ametrine begins a verbal bombardment from the skies, trying to lure the remaining flying serpents toward him.

Well, thinks Mr. Willoughby, time to be noticed. He makes his way to one of the tents. A little lamp oil on the ropes, a bit more on the canvas, and a very small flame should do well enough. Willoughby is already making his escape by the time the fire becomes large enough to be obvious. He heads towards the slope where the other members of the scouting party reside.

Maya and Fang dart in grab the unconcious serpent and run off down the mountain towards where the lance fell. As they run off Fierce runs with them casting a fog cloud twenty feet ahead of the serpents which the pack runs through. Fierce casts a fire resistance spell on Maya and splits off after they leave the range of the serpents senses and lags behind slightly hoping to draw their attention and lead them the wrong way.

Ametrine & Mr. Willoughby:
The expressions on the surviving flyers range from "What, do you think I'm crazy?" to "Come on down here, then, if you're so strong!" They hiss angrily at you, but show no intention of moving from their nice, safe, fire.

The orc leader's tents burn nicely, once they've been properly oiled. Cries of alarm and anger ensue, and the orcish occupants rapidly storm out, looking accusatorily at the serpents.

The serpents, though, ignore them - their attention suddenly caught by whatever is happening on the mountainside. And with no further warning than that, the four of them abandon the orc camp and head upslope as fast as they can slither.

The flyers also take off in that direction, flying low to the ground and at top speed. They don't look particularly happy about this, though, and direct some venomous looks at the larger serpents, as if to say "If this gets me killed, I am so coming back and throttling you!"

Several of the more enterprising orcs follow the serpent's lead, charging up the mountainside as fast as they can go, yelling foul orcish battlecries. Except for one, who, for reasons unknown, yells "Muffins!"

Maya:
As you come in, the serpents try focusing their fire on Fang. This results in even less actual effect than when they targeted Fierce; his fur isn't even singed. One does still manage to land a bite on him as the two of you go past; a couple try the same against you and simply miss.

The plan seems to be working so far; there are sounds of pursuit behind you - as well as an explosion that probably marks the removal of the last log. Still, concealing your tracks while dragging a slowly-healing giant snake down a snowy mountainside is unlikely to be easy... especially when you only have seconds more before the serpents are through the fog.

And the fact that the camp below seems to be trying to rush up to meet you might also be of note.

Englesworth, Lester, and "Blackbog" Pete:
These three have decided that discretion is the better part of valor, and are using all this uproar to cover their retreat into the tunnels.

Mirri:
Continues to circle over the area, hoping for a serpent to become separated from the group so she can land another attack without getting herself killed. Alas, Maya and Fang don't have enough of a lead on the group chasing them for her to be willing to risk such an attack - even if she was able to see that the one they're dragging isn't dead yet.

Willoughby suddenly begins to move up the slope very quickly. This raid will be successful, he thinks, if we manage to escape alive.

He notes the battle cry of "Muffins!" with approval. A good muffin is worth fighting for.
