Race: Anthropomorphic Displacer Beast?
Luma could pass for an unusually tall black-furred Hrassa - if it weren't for her four arms, and the pair of tentacles attached to the back of her shoulders. Her preferred clothing is nothing at all, as her fur does an adequite job of achieving basic modesty, though she does wear a few magic items (belt and gloves) if she's heading into serious combat. Some recent magical mishap (See Chapter II
) left her scarred, with white fur in odd rippling patterns across what had previously been a solid black form.
To those with true seeing, however, the damage from the accident is much more severe than mere burns and scars. She was originally a half black dragon displacer beast, and her true form mixed draconic feet, lower legs, tail, and armored chest with a primarily feline form. Plus the normal displacer beast tentacles, of course. Now, however...
Her tentacles have become something like what you'd get if bat wings evolved into praying mantis like arms, black scales marching up to gleaming dark purple chitinous blades as long as a man's arm. Spikes of the same material jut from her shoulders, hips, and the tip of her tail, and a pair of smooth horns sweep back from her head. In addition to the white scars, bright red streaks of fur curl around her muzzle, and the scales around her paws are marked with the same crimson color.
Luma is well known within the city of Targrove, but mostly unheard of outside of it. She has been an active (some would say overactive) member of the city watch, and one of the arena favorites for quite some time. She loves to hunt, and loves to kill, and doesn't mind too much that people "killed" in the arena will eventually stand up again no matter how thoroughly you disembowl them. Her preferences on clothing haven't hurt her arena favorite status, either. Still, even most of her fans agree that, much as they like watching her fight, they'd be happier if they could do so without having to have her somewhere in the same city.
As for as her job in the city watch... Criminals have learned that resisting arrest is liable to be immediately fatal; Luma has excellent instincts for making sure there's no stage inbetween an active combatant, and a very, very dead one; no point where someone could claim she killed a helpless foe. After all, one has to follow the laws, yes?
