(OOC: Sorry about the narration, but Dworkin is a cheating bastard* and does outclass you.)

Dworkin is more-or-less ready for your pounce. Shadowy-black transparent tentrils whip out. They seem almost like ribbons, being completely flat and paper-thin to the point of being two-dimensional. On the plus side, they aren't vectors and don't cut**. Still, they strike quickly, effortlessly**** blocking your attack, and ignoring any claws or weapon striking them.

To counter, there's a blossom of tendrils expanding from the eye, protecting it and looking a little like a many-pettled flower, getting ready to strike with 100 or so tendrils at once.

Yes, the hunt is on again, but this isn't the prey*****.

***: That's one of the nicer injuries caused. Seriously, it's dark. REALLY dark. And depressing.
****: Uh, not that you can tell. It's not like the eye winces or anything.
*****: You are.

Just like that the attack failed spectacularly, and if Jaeger had enough of a mind to see how clearly outmatched he was he would have fled immediately. Unfortunately all that happened at the moment his assault was halted was exactly that, the male's attack was completely stopped and he was left flying backwards in the direction he had come from. The agile hunter was unceremoniously sent whirling back to the starting point. At the moment he landed again his claws dug hard into the ground as he skidded back a solid half a foot.

For the first time, the male's face was clearly in view- if face was the word to use. Muzzle would have perhaps been a more accurate depiction, blood and saliva dripping from his chops, blackened circles around enlarged deep red eyes and thin, vulpine pupils already highly contracted from excitement. His teeth were sharp, and even in his armor he looked nothing short of a monster himself. Jaeger got down on all fours, dipping his head and growling at the opponent that had prevented itself from being soundly eaten.

The tendrils lash out in many rows, at least a dozen, perhaps two to ten times that number. Some go around, rapidly cutting off retreat by encircling a 100 yard radius around the man. They're way too fast and seem to ignore the thick vegetation, effortlessly skirting around it like it wasn't there.

"Do be a good fox and come along. The window to fix you isn't open very long." The man says, quiet although the whisper does manage to span the distance between you easily. he will pause... "Oh, that's a good shape. Still want to fight?"

As the tendrils close in a few things are certain... This dwarf/gnome* seems intent on using his dark magic to stop you; he's clearly the most dangerous thing you've ever seen; and if you want to run, there's another direction** you can try.

"Can youuu....fi-fixxxx thissss?" He wasn't entirely sure how, but he managed to piece the words together through the thick haze of madness. "Get me back. G-get meee baaaaaaack." The words were sluggish and forced like a drunk trying to speak a language he wasn't entirely familiar with.

There was a terrible war going on inside his heart and mind, a fight he had only heard about in the legends of his people. The war that each of his kind waged every day since the gods lifted them up, with only those who remained above the call of the wild and those who fell to the beast. The foxfolk who had gone completely feral and turned into demons, oni and nogitsune. That small, frayed part of him that was trying to regain control, for an instant it wondered if this is what they felt like. Hunger, rage, primal instinct all as loud as an earthquake and as powerful as a storm. He knew that this was wrong but something about that broken pattern had changed him in ways that, were he still of sound mind, would sicken him.

He couldn't control himself enough to move yet as the shadows were still too sharp in his mind to break free. But he managed to stop growling after a few moments. Whatever the strange dwarf was trying to do, he knew he needed to let it happen or he would never get back. So when Dworkin spoke of some means to fix him, the male did everything he could to straighten his posture up and abandon the aggressive stance he had. Instead, he sat on all fours and waited- fighting the need to hunt and the madness of bloodlust. Whatever Dworkin was apt to do, he hoped it would be done quickly.

The tendrils vanish as the dwarf rapidly reaches you*. He places one hand on your shoulder, the gesture completely absent threat**. Although it does elicit a growl of warning.

In his other hand, he draws a card, specifically Morgana's. He will touch the fragments of pattern in the smoke in her card, and close his eyes, drawing you both to a Golden Path.
