"So, an hour to get things ready. Sadie, with me..." Dworkin will offer and escort Sadie out of the room.

After Dworkin and Sadie leave the room, Nuall will speak up. "Your pardon my Lords and Ladies, but as I mentioned earlier a great deal of significance seems to have transpired that I am not aware of. Would someone care to enlighten me?"

OCC: Due to some interesting timing, Nuall really has managed to miss a LOT. Rather than force people to go into long recitations players can just say which bits they are relating and we'll assume they cover everything listed in the previous posts. On the other hand, if someone wants to edit the details for whatever reason, they they might want to give a long response. The things I can think of that Nuall has missed include:

- Everything relating to the Nathaniel story line.
- Sadie's confrontation with the dragon.
- Most of the details of the Lane/Legion story line (except for the few references in this thread)
- Sadie's proclomation (he came in after her speeches, but at least has a copy of the constitution)
- the details about the people Renny brought in (Dworkin did reference them in their private chat, but no details)
- for that matter, he and Renny still haven't been introduced. LOL

If there's anything else I'm missing, don't hesitate to throw that in as well.

Alys will be perfectly happy to go over the things on that list that she knows about - up to and including introducing Nuall and Renny. (There's only one scene she'd deliberately exclude if the topic came up... and that scene hasn't been posted yet, so it's all good.)

She'll also add, "I had been planning on training the various 'protector' groups in the city, heading in the direction of an effective militia. Given some of the terms of this," Alys gestures to Sadie's constitution, "I may need to ramp that up a bit faster than I'd intended, if I want to be able to offer such training to all of Rebma. As such, assistance would be appreciated."

Then she adds, with a bit of a grin at Nuall, "And who knows - if you're really as incautious and unprepared as you claim, perhaps you'd even learn something."

Not knowing whether it's intended to be a private thing, Solten will attempt to follow Sadie and Dworkin. He'd like to see the pattern he supposedly walked to start this new life, if nothing else.

(As to Nuall's catchup, it's probably a good idea if you state which scenes you are relating, and if any important parts are left out for whatever reason (such as not being privy to them). This is as much a way of preventing players from needing to re-read to find out how much you knew to relate in the first place as anything.)

OOC: I'm pretty sure Alys was present for all of the things on Nuall's list - the only thing I know she's missed was Dworkin's statement that Legion probably wasn't working for Chaos - but that was in Dworkin's workshop and Nuall was present. That said, Renny should probably answer questions about Renny's Cadets, since Alys' introduction to them happened off-screen and I therefore don't have a good idea of exactly what she knows.

Renny will certainly explain the Cadets.

As long as we're cutting to the quick here, has anyone explained what the grave threat to Amber is meant to be? I understand Chaos seems to be set up as a long term foe, and the doppelganger and possessed priest thing were both annoyances. Is there something else immediately threatening us?

In Alys' view, the immediate threat is Legion, aka, the possessed priest thing. It nearly won against two amberites, and would have easily bested either one alone... and that was with just one possessed relatively ordinary human. Basically, it's a threat, because it's clearly hostile & can turn any random person into a threat.

Chaos... well, they may not like Dworkin much, but they're definitely long term potential threat, not immediate.

Nuall will also relate the events in Dworkin's workshop, so those who were there can consider themselves informed on that as well. Of course Nuall won't mention his mood at the time, but otherwise full disclosure. LOL

We can probably go back to chatting in character now. LOL I was just trying to skip making people type long recaps of things I (the player) have already read.

So, Nuall will back up to actually respond to something that was said here.

He will glance distastefully at Sadie's constitution. "Please tell me that that has not been made public yet. If it has, I cannot guess how much of Rebma we will be able to save." Nualls sighs.

"Lady Alys, as for your suggestion about protector groups in the city and building to a true militia, that would be an excellent idea. We shall need to see what talent we have to work with up to this point, then we can begin training. Once we have built up a solid core and can assertain our weaknesses, we can travel into the shadows to find more of what we will need. Since I do not seem suited for a voyage to the realms of Chaos, I will do my best to aid with the endeavors here."

"I don't think it has, yet. I believe Sadie thought Dworkin might have some objection to it. I'm not surprised he didn't, though; letting people learn by - metaphorically - sticking their hands into a fire seems much more his style. Effective, though I imagine it may take a century or two before Sadie learns all of the lessons she's setting herself up for."

"That said, there's a fair amount of room for us to work with this; if Sadie is willing to accept our assistance in training her militia, it shouldn't pose much of a short-term security problem. Besides, the real threats are ones that - like Oagthach or Legion - a militia can't effectively combat. Though, hm. I'm planning on visiting the mage guild shortly - perhaps they can come up with some way to identify Legion's presence? I'll have to ask."

"As for talent... one of the complaints the protectors had when I talked to them yesterday is that 'all the talent is taken for the castle guard' - but I don't think that's quite accurate; it seems, more, that the guard appropriated those who were already both talented and trained; in terms of raw ability, I doubt we shall be disappointed."
