07.08: Wednesday at the Festival

Post by Joshua »

(OOC: So, a number of people are planning on doing things that night or in the morning. I'll be using this thread to keep track of them, and will be noting which ones should be completed before the 'trial' and which ones don't have to be. The trial will get it's own thread when it starts, but may mix with this one. Also of note: some of the threads may happen before dawn.. I'll try to have a list in this first post.)

Before morning: Morning comes with sharp, painful light to the festivities in Amber. Especially to those who spent too much time at the ball.

In case you forgot, there is a second day of fresh snow that fell just before sunrise, leaving a sparkling morning of white. Out on the very large grounds of Castle Amber is a full pavilion-style festival dozens of games of skill and strength are set up as well as countless shops and food stalls. Fennel cake, popcorn, as well as various foods from 100 other cities are offered. (Cotton Candy is making a repeat appearance from last year.)

The castle itself is still on display, with the stone polished to a gleaming white that makes the snow seem ever so slightly dirty. Tours, short inexpensive ones, as well as more extravagant ones (for a higher price) are offered by the castle staff.

A small amphitheater is performing Shakespeare in the Snow, this time Romeo and Juliet, told with snowball fights and the dumping of snow down tunics. (A disturbingly gothic mix of light hearted fun with dark themed undertones.)

There are many other nooks that can be found if you look. (Ask if it's here, it probably is. Or nearby.)

There is a small pond currently with free-skating and regular carriages to and from the city.

Rumors include what may or may not have happened at the ball last night, and what might occur at the Ht'Gon festivities that evening. It's currently planned as a orcish / primal feast with games of sport.

Morning stuff that's happening: At about 11:14am, there was a total eclipse over all of Amber. It lasted about 20 minutes.
