Absence

Post by misfit »

Hi Folks,

I just wanted to let everyone know that my home internet connection is down and I don't know when it will be back. ...could be a few weeks at this point. Sorry for the inconvenience, and by all means go on without me. I'll be back when I can. I'm cheating and posting this from work, but I won't be able to do that on a reliable basis either.

Just wander around town really slowly in a van looking for open wireless spots on your laptop! I'm *sure* it's not illegal or creepy!

don't most mcdonalds and wendy's and stuff have free WI-fi now? There's also libraries and stuff. Seems like a bit of a hassle though. I'd do it, but I'm nuts and an RP junkie for a good game.

I think it more depends on whether an actual laptop is owned. I wouldn't trust library computers to handle the load of a forum page... If a laptop IS owned, then coffee shops or libraries with free wi-fi could be a temp solution if desired.

Never had a problem with forums at a library before and that was like 12 years ago. I can't imagine they've gotten much worse. I was playing a hippy peace loving vampire musician named Lynx Latherus then.

First Incarnation Josh, not the one from your game.

Suffice it to say most of the library computers I've used could barely handle loading the desktop. Though they had the image so burned into the monitor you couldn't really tell if it was loaded or not anyway.

Sounds like the libraries you've been to have never updated their computers.

Then again it's been twelve years so the libraries where I was might still have the same computers... now that's a scarey prospect...

Sock puppet? Sock puppet?!? ...but they're EVIL! Some people fear the zombie apocalypse, but the real menace is sock puppets. Zombie are slow and clumsy and you just have to shoot them in the head. What happens when you shoot a sock puppet? They don't care! And they are devious and insidious. They lurk in your sock drawer waiting until you let you guard and by the time you realize it they are already on your feet and it's too late! If you're smart you'll stay away from sock puppets!

In other news, no laptop. But I'm back. It may take me a day or two to get caught up on reading the posts and then I'll be back posting again.

That rant sounds familiar did you steal it from somewhere?
