Carthians
Black Jack
A blood hunted, vile diablorist who is working with the brood to..... Okay thats the official description of him. Black Jack is the head of the Carthians in city. He runs Black Jack's floating card game which is a speak easy constantly on the move and the Carthians official secret meeting place. It is said that only one non carthian has ever found the bar and that was our last and now deceased sheriff. It is said if a kindred he did not invite to the bar shows up they have 10 seconds to explain why they should live, if a non-carthian is brought in by a carthian the carthian then gets the same treatment. (OOC warning: Finding the floating card game if you are a non carthian will get you killed) He is a master of shady contacts and street crime.

The Lady
Black Jacks doll and partner in crime. She is the face to the civilized humans in the city and rumored to be extremely dangerous.

The Scout
An unnamed Carthian known to scout locations and Carthians for Jack.

Invictus
Prince Reginauld.
The current invictus Prince of the city. He is said to be getting very tired and most of the covenants think he will be entering torpor soon. Several members of court are preparing themselves to take his place. He is known as a hardliner old school thinker. He is not for or against the current imperium but he damn well knows it is run by the wrong covenant. Known to be ruthless draconion and well as we said he's an invictus.

The Cleaner
Hes real name is Eric and he is well known for cleaning up problems. In that moment after the slaughter but before the newsies show up you call Eric. Well versed in cleaning, buidling restoration and dominate he is the guy you call when their is a scene to clean up and his prices are rock bottom. To do his job he has made deals with the leaders of the city and has free passage through anyone's domain to do his work.

Chrone
?
People call him Martin. He is older than dirt and mean. Very little is known about him to the general public, except he is the head of the crone in the city. He shows up to court and meets with Smith to play chess. They never actually play just pick up the pieces and talk in a language you have never heard before. He ignores most of court and the Prince never bothered him. He does have some sort of haven. He also provides safe haven to other crone but demands blood sacrifice (In game terms every crone gets -2 to their pull for blood but has a free haven to stay at if they want.)

Lydia
A young crone believed to be granted the insight of the mother, or be a drug addict depending on who you ask. She is known for wild mood swings, prophetic babble and excess. Rumored to talk to Laurence a lot.

Simon Stowe (Formerly Auryn, I chose not to use a reference to a story from 1979. Sorry about the name change) - Dressed as a hobo and living with animals, Simon displays a mix of backwater charm and forgotten refinement. He associates with the Lance, but has yet to formally join. When asked why he has not joined, he offers only that "We are all human." As he does not preach this statement, and seeks to overcome it with the Lance's teaching. He has stated he will join once he finds peace between the two truths he sees.

To most people he meets, he asks "What do you wish?" Not a demand, but a question to find out about his peers.
In addition, he is willing to train animals and animal ghouls for a small price. As of yet, his skills have not been proven in Rochester.

Joseph, no surname given, has established a bit of a reputation for himself before coming to Rochester. He was a prominent member of clan Daeva in the 16th through 18th centuries until he disappeared without warning. He did reappear sometime in the latter part of the Great War, showing up in Eastern France briefly before leaving Europe for America.

Upon his arrival in America he was just beginning to settle into New York City when that city fell to the Brood. Joseph was found not far from New York City by the Legion when their counterpush came, and he fought alongside them for several years until he was granted leave to settle in Rochester away from the front lines. He was further recognized with an appointment to the Primogen Council by Prince Reginauld, though he does not hold the seat of the Sheriff, the Harpy, or the Keeper, nor is he a member of the Crone.

Joseph is a striking man in his middle 30's who carries himself with an air of refinement and superiority. He is further known to espouse the virtues of the sword in settling disputes, and to disdain much of the changes the modern world has brought about.

Vinnie: (formally Vincent, refuses to use his last name)

Vinnie was born and raised in Rochester and appears to be in his mid-twenties. Despite an Italian heritage and a criminal background, he is not part of the Mafia. Has an active distain for authority, preferring to hold to personal honor and friendships. He is most often found in the shadier restaurants and suspected speakeasies.

Vinnie was embraced a couple decades ago and was a member of the Carthian Movement. More recently he publicly renounced his association with them and performed a tour of duty in New York City to prove his loyalty to the Imperium. It is more popularly believed the the only thing he proved was his desire for self-preservation. Not well respected due to his questionable loyalties and outspoken distain for the high covenants.

Ezekiel T. Browne, aka Thomas Browne, Tolliver Browne

The current whip of the sheriff of Rochester, Ezekiel has long been an institution in Rochester along with his brother Simon, for roughly as long as anyone can care to recall save for a few brief disappearances around the turn of the century. Moreso than his brother who prefers to focus on more spiritual matters, Ezekiel has watched and cared for "his" city for as long as he's been there. When he caught wind of the Legion's revival, Ezekiel convinced his brother to travel to New York and swore fealty to the Legion upon his arrival, stating that the state was far better off in that covenant's care than the Brood's.

Ezekiel is a soft-spoken, genteel sort of fellow who is a careful and mindful speaker, clearly knowledgeable about many topics and generally of an agreeable manner. Despite his infirmities, Ezekiel moves with a natural sort of grace and is known to be a competent swordsman to those who fought with him in the war in New York.

Ezekiel sports the look of a somewhat handsome man in his mid twenties. His sense of style is a bit outdated, but more stunning than his slight anachronistic tendencies and thick Marylander's accent are the heavy cataracts in his eyes. Regardless of that, the feeling of being watched by the sheriff's whip is an omnipresent one in his vicinity, and lingers for roughly an hour or so after leaving his company.

Simon Samuel Brown AKA: Simon, Brother Simon, Brother Brown.

Simon, Much like his brother has been in Rochester "Since the beginning" as he'd put it. He loves this City, more so the paople in it. SImon has watched as "his" City's struggled to grow and Flourish under the "heavy handed" Rule of Prince Reginauld. But Simon knows that the people are the key to this city and regardless of the new prince He'll look after "his" City.

Simons easy to talk to and a good listener, when he's not at Court or dealing with personal matters, he's often found listing to the mortals at there Union meeting, having lunch with the mayor and police chief. He keeps close ties to the Humans for they are gods Children and need to be loved and protected.

a few quotes from Simon's sermons:

"Guilt is something people feel when they run out of excuses for their behavior."

"I've never even been a particularly good man. I have in fact, been a profoundly selfish man. But that doesn't matter, you see. Something in the universe loves me. Something in the universe loves the entity that is me. I will choose to call this something "God". A singular spark that dwells in the soul of every living being. If you look inside yourself, you will find this spark too. You will. But you have to look, deep. Love your faults. Embrace them. If God embraces them, then how can they be faults? Love yourself. You have to love yourself. If we don't love ourselves, how can we love others. And when we know what we are, then we can find the truth out about others. See who they are. The truth about them. And you know what the truth is? The truth about them, about you, about me, do you? The truth is we are all perfect just as we are. God only loves that which is perfect, and He loves you. He loves you because you are perfect. You are perfect just as you are."

"I believe that if God exists, our knowledge of him is imperfect. Why? Because the stories and myths we have are the products of men, the passage of time. The religion we practice is based on a theory, impossible to prove. Yet you bestow it with absolutes like, "There is no such thing as coincidence."

"Absolute belief in God's will means there's a reason for everything. Everything! And yet you can't help ask yourself how God can allow death and destruction. And then despise yourself for asking. But the truth is, if we knew God's will, we'd all be gods, wouldn't we?? Aren't we??"

Derrin West

Having fought the brood in NYC for several years, he's earned his citizenship and quite a bit of standing among the kindred of NYC. He was known there as a useful resource for information as well as keeping mortal eyes away from the combat zones. He mainly helped set up ambushes and flushed brood out into the open through mortal contacts. Recently, after a few more direct conflicts alongside other kindred, he was told he'd done more than enough for the city of NY, and now that his face was known to the brood, it might be a good time to "retire".

In exchange for his vast network of mortal connections in NYC, the Imperium helped him set up shop in Rochester, and made his standing known (at least to a few local kindred). Although officially still unaligned he is considering joining the Ordo Dracul, having fought alongside them in NYC.

Jimmy Benandanti

Jimmy grew up in a small town outside Palermo, Sicily, and lived a relatively normal life until he was sired by a a Romanian merchant in the mid 1700s. He not only survived, but thrived as a Gangrel. He roamed the European countryside for ten years, carrying only the close on his back and the Italian longsword his father had given him. He found his way to western new york, crossing an ocean in the early 1800s, to do so once realizing there was a whole new world to explore.
It wasn't long before he met the only Ventrue he would ever take orders from, Alexander Worthington III. Some Gangrel already in the new United States, scoffed at this. What Gangrel would ever take orders from a Ventrue. Jimmy explained that he was worthy of the loyalty, and the day he wasn't, Jimmy would rip his throat out. Alexander offered Jimmy a place among the Invictus, and has stood at his side ever since. Jimmy acts as Alexander's bodyguard, goto guy, and hitman. Jimmy found he was quite good at running small rackets, and with the permission of the mortal Don, he set up shop in Rochester. Well the mortal Mafia wishes to stay seperate from its vampiric counterpart, They remain on tolerable terms.
He recently returned from New York City and the Brood War, in order to protect the Prince during his transition into torpor. He brings with him his childe, Shepard. Shepard was an ally in New York, who was almost slaughtered by the Brood watching Jimmy's back. Jimmy gained permission to embrace Shepard He believes in the tenets of what the Covenant stands for and truly believes in what Alexander and the Prince preached to him so long ago.

" The strength of the vampire is that people will not believe in him."

Granny McCarthy
Granny McCarthy was embraced in NYC, no one seems to know her age when embraced, and she won't tell you if asked, but she does appear to be a wizened old hag, though her voice is that of a young woman. Along with her recent arrival to Rochester, a new band of Irish Thugs have joined in the ranks of gangs in Rochester, and seem to be doing fairly well, and its generally well known that they seem to treat Granny with a more than normal respect.

You get a feeling of general creepyness from her, as if you don't really want to stand to close, for fear she might do something unspeakable to you.

While fighting in NY, she earned her citizenship through her willingness to fight in any situation.
